  1. Yes, I agree. Especially with the girls they post pictures in their bra and underwear just to get likes and that boost their self-esteem and confidence. Which shouldn't be the case but it is with a lot of teenage girls. And when they don't get a lot of likes they feel like there not pretty or something. They feen for the attention and likes!!!

  2. Yes I agree because they think they will be popular. They also compete with their friends to see who got more likes. That is the way it is with teenage girls - to boost their self-esteem and confidence.

  3. After reading the article i completely agree with what is being said. A "Like" can be intoxicating to teenagers especially if there already feeling Self-Conscious about their appearance. This could cause individuals to post certain type of pictures that will catch attention in a negative way, but also help them to gain likes and receive the attention that they sadly crave. In Another aspect getting likes can influence you and make you feel special and better about yourself.Stated in the article when they viewed images that had a pretty good amount of likes, there were greater activity's in the brain which is involve with (reward processing, social cognition, imitation and attention) researchers also compared it with neural reactions when the teens looked at photos with fewer likes. Me myself , honestly speaking if i see a photo with under a certain amount of likes I'm not going to like it, even if its a decent picture. On the other hand if it where a picture that has a vast amount of likes or i know the person will get likes quick , I'd like there's. A mass amount of Teenagers today are Obsessed with getting a minimum amount of likes and this can sometimes (not always) have a bad effect on them.

  5. I agree that teenagers in my generation feel that likes are the most important thing. Though I personally don't find "likes" important at all.I find it kinda sad how some people will use likes to determine whether they are ugly, pretty or "bad". I tend to see this mainly in females though it is a universal issue.

  6. I Agree That A "Like" Could Intoxxicate Many Teenagers That Tend To Be Very Fond Of Social Media . In My Generation Today , I've Seen A lot Of People Who've Seen Not To Be Very Interested In The Amount Of Likes They Recieve But The Majority Of Others Seem To Have Different Attitude Towards Others Because Of The Attention And "Likes" They've Seem To Be Recieving .

  7. I agree with this article because people who have got a lot of likes in this generation have show obvious signs of excitement(yelling, getting excited, etc)

  8. i agree with Roni Caryn likes are a big thing to our generation. teens would do anything for likes on a picture. sometimes if the number of likes wasnt up to their liking they delete the picture. certain people post certain things to get a reaction they know they will get. Likes may change how someone view themselves make them feel good or more of themselves like drugs, money and food.

  9. I agree with the article because the people who get alot of likes are more popular while people who dont get alot of likes are the ones that don't fit in and or get bullied because they don't get many likes.

  12. I agree with this article because in this generation people feel that if they get a lot of likes on something on social media that they are somewhat popular and they feel excitement and they would do anything to keep that status of popularity and excitement.

  13. I agree that teenagers in my generation feel that likes are the most important thing. I find it sad how some people will use likes to determine whether they are ugly or pretty. I tend to see this in males and females both.

  14. I agree, my generation is completely fixed on how many likes they can get. It's like their seeking for other people approval, and it's like a popularity contest.(the more likes the better.)

  15. I completely agree with the article because teens I feel compete with each other. Who has the best picture or who looks hot or beautiful or cute etc. Also, when they don't have to many likes on their pics they wont feel confident about themselves and that will get in their head. That could cause depression n lead to suicide.

  17. I agree with the article because teens now post anything for the likes, if they don't get enough likes they delete the picture. Some girls may feel they not pretty enough and post inappropriate pictures just for likes.

  18. i agree with the article, teenagers nowadays feel like likes on social media defines them, if one does not get that many likes it seems to their self esteem and causes them to try harder to get those likes so they can prove to themselves that they are just as important as people with more likes. A lot of my friends delete pictures off of instagram because they did not get that many likes and felt like they had a problem causing them to feel down, so i do agree with the article.

  20. I agree with this article because our generation is deciding something is good or bad based on likes and dislikes. Its like they can't tell their own opinion because they are under peer pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  21. i agree with this article because among teenagers "likes" are like drugs. when someone posts a picture on social media and they see that they are getting a lot of likes it gives the person a sense of an ego boost. me myself can relate because if i post a selfie online and i get alot of likes i feel better about myself.to get alot of likes makes people post more and more pictures of them self to get more likes to feel better about their self. some people tend to post pictures and when they dont get much likes they delete the picture and feel bad about them selves. they feel ugly and it just lowers their self esteem. getting likes can really make a person feel like they are better than someone if they they dont get likes like them. especially in this generation teenagers tend to rely on likes for popularity and confidence and they shame others for not being like them. also people dont only post pictures of themselves but post pictures of them flashing money or materialistic things to show off to the people who dont have those things just to get likes.

  22. I agree with this article because in teenagers minds, 'likes' are what is important. The article says, "And new research shows that likes appear to be somewhat intoxicating to teenagers. The same reward center in the brain that is involved in the sensation of pleasure... also is turned on when teenagers see their photos getting a lot of likes on social media" (Rabin, R). When teenagers see that their picture or status is getting a lot of likes, they consider themselves 'cool'. Teenagers will do anything to the point where they would post inappropriate things to get 'more likes'.

  23. I agree with this article because we now live in a society where social media is very popular and the "likes" define you and what type of person you are . Teenagers now in days will post a half naked picture for attention (likes) . It's brainwashing us teens and some people are so insecure they'll do anything for it

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree with the article because in 2016 most people especially in our age group spend excessive amounts of time on social media to the point where it starts to be as important to them as something going on in real life, the likes make them feel as if they're cool or that people like them

  25. I agree with the article The Pleasure of 'Likes'. Majority of post on social media is related to sex or drugs and alcohol. For the pictures of wholesome things there's no likes or attention given. For decades a sex appeal has been very substantial and as of recent years teenagers are embarrassing their so call sex appeal. Most people who do post pictures of their body seek attention, good nor bad. But that's what leads to bullying; someone might body shame the person. People need that confidence from their post on social media cause there's no where else to look for it. There's not as much good influences that we can look up to anymore, trying to find our own confidence tends to be more of a sex thing. To see who likes that person's body more, or who is "body goals". I strongly believe social media influence us in many different ways but it also made teens more needy and cry for the attention that we all secretly seek.

  28. I agree with this article because a like on fb or instagram is considered as a reward and is looked at as positive just like earning a trophy ~ Jordan Dickens

  29. I agree extremely with this article , every other week something goes viral or a craze starts trending and people play along with it to get recognizing on from likes on Instagram. People degrade them self my taking risky photos just to get noticed. We only notice the bad most of the time like drugs , cigarettes and other substances posted on social media but there's also good being posted. People all over the world post pictures or videos of them helping the homeless some do it to look like a good person and get likes and to get their name out there and others do it to spread positivity and to get others to help. But it's hard to recognize actually decent caring people from attention seekers. To be popular on social media is an accomplishment and goal to a lot of people causing them to some times degrade themselves for imaginary likes online.

  30. I agree with this quote because teens depend their whole social life on likes. The likes to them is like fame. The more likes they get the more famous they feel. Even though it's just for social media the likes they get makes them feel good about themselves.

  33. According to the article "The Pleasure of Likes" I believe that likes appear to be somewhat intoxicating to teenagers. Our generation, when it comes to social media, we tend to be all about likes. Girls will take very seductive pictures half naked for likes. That goes for the boys too. I seen a couple of guys taking pictures just in their boxer just to show off their bodies. Some people go to the extreme and filter their photos so they can look better. Nowadays I think people would do anything for likes when it comes to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, ect..

  34. I agree on what this article is saying. I don't understand why we use likes to determine whether you are pretty or ugly. I tend to see this in both males and females. What people think on the book is different from how they see you in the real word. -Shaun Derrell

  35. I totally agree with the video. Now a days teenagers live off social media. They will do the extreme just for likes which brings attention whether good or bad and it's not right bc we have something that takes over us and feel away if we get bashed or get negative feedback and if it's good we might even continue

  36. Everyone these days lives and breathes social media so people especially females that love to show their body's off for likes or views if it's a video live off of social media everything is social media now Adays and its bad for everyone especially these young females they need to be stopped - Moses ⁶𓅓! ®

I agree with this article for many reasons. One reason why is lots of teens boys and girls have low selfesteem and are desperate.Secondly lots of girls post thirst trap photos to get attention.Thirdly because lots teens like the feeling of likes it makes them feel acomplished and a boost of confidence

  39. I agree with the video. Now a day its all about social media. they will do anything just to get crazy amounts of likes. They see life through social media not in person.

  41. I don't agree because I really don't care what happens to me on social media. A lot of other people social media or have private accounts that are for friends and family which wouldn't usually leave their comment on it. Should be taken in consideration that social media platforms like facebook, youtube and vine there are more important things than likes.

  42. I believe that this article is very true. Many kids today are becoming more distracted by social media networks especially likes.Likes are almost on every social network used.People shouldn't make a big deal about likes and do stuff to receive likes or more.

  43. I beleive that people have wasted there life on social media and still are there are people that killed them selfs over social media and is still happening and people thinks it's cool but there not thinking wright. People go willed over the likes they get and they don't know the effects

  44. Yes , i believe that people have wasted time on social media , dedicating they life to likes and how popular you can be on online. People bases they life on society for an outlook

  45. I agree with the article because in this generation teenagers are all about seeking likes for attention. The more like they get the most famous they feel without even knowing the outcome of what there even doing. It's brainwashing us teen and some may not know that certain stuff they post would make them a target in person.

  46. I agree with this article because alot of people post pictures that shouldn't be even taken and they post it for the likes so they can get their self esteem up instead of trying different ways. Also when people start commenting "bad" stuff about the picture that shouldnt be up or the picture barley gets any likes the person will delete it.

  50. I agree with this bc,me as a female I love to get attention because I I'm really insecure with what people think or say about me so. A female will try their best to get "likes" .

  51. I agree with this article because in this generation people base their self-esteem off of popularity. Some believe you get popularity from likes and attention. Young females feel insecure if they don't get enough likes on their social media pages. It's sad to say that teenagers have to use social media as a foundation to happiness
