Why do you think there is such an increase in the use of synthetic drugs and prescription medication by teens? Do you think anything can be done to stop it?
I think there is an increase of drug use because teens think it's cool and some teens are peer pressured into doing drugs. I don't think anything can be done because teens feel like they can do anything in the world and that their invincible and the more you tell them not to do something the more likely they'll do the opposite of what you tell them to do.
ReplyDeleteI think there's an increase of drug use because others are doing it and fear not being accepted into society if they don't do it too. Parents can be role models. Their attitude towards drugs is one of the greatest influences why they child might do it. Also if the parents stay connected with their child during their teenage years that may be able to prevent their child from doing anything bad because they're close with the parents.
ReplyDeleteNo my eyes the increase of drug use is usually because teenagers see their friends participating in taking drugs so they think it's cool to do it also peer pressure is a major factor in drug use in young adults also too much freedom can also be an outcome of kids doing drugs not paying attention to your child letting him or her do whatever she wants is a major factor if parents spent more time with their children I think teenage drug use would be at an all time low
ReplyDeleteI think there is an increase in drug use in teens because they may have friends that are doing it and it may be awkward to be the only one not doing it or they may think that it makes them cool, i feel it can be avoided if the parents talk to them about it like a person and not some high and mighty authority figure so that the teen can relate better
ReplyDeleteI must admit there is an increase drug rate and the answer to how to stop is there is no answer. It starts with the person you can't help someone if they can't help themselves. Although it's not good to them it's a little bit more to it

ReplyDeleteThe increase in drugs is because teens feel like it's fun it's give them a feeling they've never had before also if one person does it another does. It's gets around by word of mouth and someone times teens do it just to be cool. I don't think there's anything anyone can do to stop certain teens from doing it unless drugs stop being made which I doubt is going to happen.

ReplyDeleteMost teens just use drugs just because the little crowd they hang out with do it. Once they start there's no stopping . Sone teens do because they love and they get use to it . Some teens do because it calms them. I honestly think there's no way of stopping this.

I believe there's an increase in synthetic marijuana because Untill last fall it was even sold on the shelves of convince stores and deli's which is every where in New York City. It's much easier for teens to get a hold of synthetic drugs and the craze is spreading. Maybe it starts off with a kid seeing his friend smoking a joint or doing drugs and now they are tempted because their friend is and that makes it all right to them. A long time ago their was an opium addiction/ epidemic throughout China and caused tons of problems also. Also back in earlier days cocaine was legal and used as medicine and was exploited by the rich. Cocaine was also used in original Coca Cola products . When cocaine became a luxury ,the lower class couldn't afford it like the rich,famous and the wealthy could. So a new drug appeared on the market and this new drug was called crack cocaine(crack) .It was easier to get your hands on and cheaper but had worse effects than pure cocaine. They say history repeats it's self and like crack cocaine was to pure cocaine , synthetic marijuana is to real weed. It's cheaper, easier to get your hands on but has worse effects . Drugs trend to teens because teenage years are the time of your lives where everyone wants to experiment and try new things and that's what they are doing and that's why we see an increase of drug use in our community's addictions start by doing something harmful for the first time after that dopamine in the body is released and tells your body you're happy and it makes you feel good and that is how addictions start

I believe there is an increase in drugs and it is because teens feel like it's fun or it gives them a feeling they've never had before. If one person does it another does. It's gets around because people talk about it and offer it to other people, sometimes teens do it just to be cool. I don't think there's anything anyone can do to stop it but, people should be more careful about what they smoke.

ReplyDeleteTeenagers are addicted to drugs because either 1) they need an "escape" or 2) peer pressure. The sweet escape they all dream of it is to forget about the world and their problems. Problems at home, school or towards themselves. Peer pressure effects everyone at one point or another. It's almost as if drugs is a puzzle and everyone wants to be a piece to fit in. At one point it became as if you were doing something, you're "wack". It was an outfit everyone likes on you, although you don't need it.
ReplyDeleteTeenagers abuse drugs as an escape. Most teenagers suffer from depression and feel trapped and they feel that the only way to be happy and to forget is to do drugs. It's an escape from problems such as family problems or even they try to escape from their selves. Teenagers usually turn to drugs when they have no one to talk to about how they feel or no one understands them. The more and more they feel alone the more they will take drugs to feel full of life. With out drugs they feel empty inside. Drugs is a cure to depression but at the same time it is only temporary and lasts for a limited amount of time so then they will buy more drugs, which will keep them hooked and addicted. I feel like peer pressure isn't a reason for drug use. Drugs is a personal choice and nobody should be judged for drug use bc someone could be going through the worst and seem happy just by using drugs.

ReplyDeleteOne reason why is cause nowadays teens have connections and lots of people brag about it.There is something that can be done about it.One is stop taking the drugs the feeling is not worth it.There is no reason why people can't stop sure it makes you feel happy now but latter on you'll feel the consequences of your actions.
ReplyDeleteI think there are more synthetic drugs because they're a cheap alternatives to the more known which I won't mention. Drugs like k2, krokodil, and etc also give longer highs for less of a price which people look for and some are aware of what it could cause but don't care. I would make the ingredients harder to get for example a drug used in the meth (sudafed) was made prescription but really needs to be illegal because the makers would have to result to harder methods to make the drug. These drugs are mainly made in small production to medium in houses using fairly easy to obtain ingredients if they're banned they would have no choice to stop making them but may cause the businesses who make the ingredients to go out of business.

ReplyDeleteThere is a significant increase in the use of synthetic drugs among teenagers and the most common reason is peer pressure. kids listen to their friends who are already abusing drugs and reassure them that its not addictive causing kids to think its okay to do so. honestly i think it can be stopped if kids have self control so they don't instinctively do drugs.

ReplyDeleteI believe there is a big increase in the use of synthetic drugs because of peer pressure and diprestion so then your body functions really bad worse then when u started drugs aren't cool or helping u it's makeing your life bad and this gets a lot of other people to start .

I think it's an increase in the use of the synthetic drug because it's cheaper n easier to access with out being bothered by police. Ways to stop the use of the synthetic drug is to stop selling it in stores n to show people the side effects before they even take the drug.

ReplyDeleteI think the increase of drug use is because more and more teens are doing drugs and they are influencing other kids to try it because it's is cheaper and easier to have access to. Once the use of drugs is being used its more likely that they will get addicted to it and won't be able to control themselves from stopping.
ReplyDeleteThere is a huge increase of drug use because certain teens just cut school or lie to their parents and they hang with way older people who do drugs & since they're with them they try it & they think it's somethint they have to do since they're "friends" do it. It's really sad because these 14,15,16 & other kids hang out with 19, 20 & older people that have no idea what they're doing with their life. Alot of kids take drugs and cant control themselves and when they're sober they sometimes dont even remember anything.
ReplyDeleteI believe the increase in synthetic drugs has a lot to do with the increasing rates of poverty in our society.Many people suffering from sickness and can't afford to pay for medical bills or supplies choose to go buy drugs from the streets to deal with their issues.People suffering a mental disorder use it as a way out.Also people who don't have money decide to help sell it.

ReplyDeleteI believe there is an increase of synthetic drugs and prescription drug use amongst teens because of society and peer pressure. A lot of musicians, actors, and some athletes use drugs and teens see this and become influenced to try such things. Another way would be through peer pressure, when friends tell them to try it and they become addicted.
